For detail informations about this position opportunity kindly read the description below. Performs assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse or LPN. Monitors and operates patient care equipment. Performs specialized technical patient care procedures. Maintains a clean and healthy environment. Communicates with patients and members of the health care team and relays appropriate information to provide comprehensive patient care. Reinforces patient and family teaching. Participates in the orientation of staff to the unit and precepts nursing technicians on the unit. As part of a patient focused service, promotes a supportive and healing environment to enhance customer and staff satisfaction. Assists in emergency situations as directed by a Registered Nurse or LPN. Ensures that prescribed measures related to hygiene, comfort, and rest are provided. Complies with Universal Precaution guidelines and safety standards to maintain and promote a clean and healthy work environment. Assists in the use of bag-valve-mask devices, anti-embolism stockings, pneumatic compression stockings, oxygen, suction equipment, incentive spirometers, and bedside glucose monitoring machines. Operates converter chairs, lifts, scales, beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, non-invasive BP monitors, automatic thermometers, sphygmomanometers, pulse oximeters, and computers. Performs vital signs. Records patient intake and output information and blood glucose results. Reports observations and significant or unusual information regarding patients to RN/LPN. Observes color, consistency, amount and odor from drainage tubes. Assists RN/LPN in providing patient care according to individual needs by observing IV site appearance, assisting with range of motion, ambulation, patient transfers, diet, elimination, hygiene, performing pre-and -post-operative procedural care, and assisting with respiratory functions/procedures. Documents observations and site care according to procedure. Participates in shift report. Prepares room to receive patient by setting up necessary equipment and ensuring neatness and cleanliness of room. Transports and collects patient specimens throughout hospital, and contributes to the completion of admission, discharge, transfer, and postmortem procedures and forms. Participates in unit-based and hospital-wide Continuous Quality Improvement Program. Supports cost efficient/effective delivery of care. Serves as a resource/model through compliance with standards of care and with Department of Nursing, hospital, and university policies and procedures. May participate in research projects impacting patient care areas. Performs related responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of a Nursing Technician training program and certification by the State of Georgia as a Certified Nursing Assistant or currently enrolled in an accredited Registered Nurse program and have completed two clinical semesters. Must be BLS certified. Minimum Hourly $ 10 Minimum Annual $ 20800 Midpoint Hourly $ 12.84 Midpoint Annual $ 26707.2
