The Nursing Researcher / Education Coordinator will develop, implement and support nursing research and evidenc! ed based practice by acting as an independent researcher; To provide assistance, guidance, education, and support in all activities that build a culture of inquiry and enhance the quality of care at Children's; to provide ongoing education about evidence based practice, research methodologies; to facilitate collaborative and multidisciplinary research partnerships.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates knowledge of federal regulations and regulatory knowledge for conducting research and able to mentor and educate staff.
Mentor and guide staff nurses and allied health professionals related to the principals of research and implementation of evidenced based practice.
Participates in the implementation of system wide education plan for research and evidenced based practice.
Serves as principal investigator on nursing based research projects. Responsible for all aspects of study design, protocol development, imple! mentation and execution of project, collection of data, analys! is and dissemination of findings.
Build collaborative research teams that include staff nurses as active team members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters prepared in a nursing, science or public health related field.
5 years of clinical experience in a progressive healthcare setting.
Current license in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse.
Evidence of research experience evidenced by funded research grants, publications and presentations at professional conferences/meeting.
Knowledge of research methodology, principles and procedures
Current CITI certification in protection of human subjects
Self directed and motivated to work independently towards short and long term goals.
Demonstrated ability in:
Utilization of advanced methods, techniques, and procedures in the performance of scientific research involving multiple variables.
Independent design, organization! , and quality control of moderately complex research projects within an integrated, multifaceted research program.
Direct participation in the development, writing and presentation of abstracts, manuscripts, and posters.
Knowledge of clinical information systems.
Must possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills as well as aptitude for
conflict resolution, problem solving, financial analysis and staff development.
