We are a 31â€"bed unit, 14 of those beds are dedicated to our Total Joint Replacement Program, and the other 17 beds are a combination of orthopedic trauma, postâ€"op urology, and medical/surgical patients. Each patient room is very spacious and decorated with furnishings and equipment that are specific to meet the needs of our orthopedic patient.
We work with a multidisciplinary team which includes physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, dieticians, social workers, case managers, and chaplains to combine our expertise toward each patient's recovery. When assigning care of patients it is our goal for each associ! ate to have a consistent 5:1 nurse/patient ratio. We offer a p! ersonal approach to our unit â€" specific orientation ensuring all staff are trained with dedicated preceptors and mentors. Included in orientation, we partnership with Rehab Services to provide mobility training for our staff, which is very important in providing safe care to our orthopedic patients.
Our Total Joint Program provides comprehensive care along the continuum to help our patients regain their mobility and get back in their community. As a part of that program, we offer a free preâ€"operative education class which reviews the entire process from decision to have surgery through to recovery at home. Current Georgia RN License required. Current Ortho/Medâ€"Surg experience in a hospital setting is needed. Must be able to flex hours and shifts (8 or 12 hours shif! ts).
