Provides guidance to less experienced staff. Manages research project databases, develops flow sheets and other study related documents, and completes source documents/case report forms. Interfaces with research participants, determines eligibility and consents study participants according to protocol. Approves orders for supplies and equipment maintenance. Assists in developing recruitment strategies and conducting screenings for study participants including interviews and questionnaires. Supervises collection of study specimens and processing. Establishes case packages for study procedures, monitors scheduling of procedures and charges, coordinates other services as needed. Ensures compliance with research protocols, reviews case report forms and audits for! accuracy with source documents, attends monitoring meetings w! ith sponsors. Prepares regulatory submissions. With appropriate credentialing and training. may perform phlebotomy or diagnostics. Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of college in a scientific, health related, or business administration program or Licensed as a Practical Nurse. Three years of research administration experience. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in a scientific, health related or business administration program and two years of research administration experience will also be considered. This position is intended for clinical research and all clinical training requirements must be tracked through Emory Healthcare under the Clinical Researcher category. Preferred Qualifications •3-5 years experience in medical or public health research

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while working as part of a! geographically disbursed team
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Access, MS Excel and SAS
  • Knowledge of biostatistics, epidemiology and study design Additional Job Details A team of researchers in the Department of Epidemiology at Emory Rollins School of Public Health has been conducting research aimed at improving prevention, care, and treatment of tuberculosis (TB), drug-resistant TB and TB/HIV co-infection. The group’s collaborating partners include Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Public Health Research Institute (New Jersey), University of KwaZulu-Natal, and the Medical Research Council of South Africa.
We are looking for a self-motivated, highly-organized person with experience in project management. The Research Projects Manager is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the quality of an NIH-funded research project. This position reports to an Atlanta-based Principal Investigator and requires 25-30% travel to South Africa.

  • Provide principal administrative and research support to ! the Principal Investigator in the administration of an NIH R01 grant and the completion of the study
  • Be responsible for communication between research sites and collaborating agencies
  • Assist Principal Investigator with study implementation and management
  • Oversee IRB approvals and renewals
  • Interact with the clinical and study personnel at the study site to ensure smooth integration of the study into the clinical and programmatic setting
  • Manage budgets, spending, subcontract execution, invoicing for the study, and periodic reports to the funding agency
  • Assist with all aspects of study protocols and SOPs
  • Meet regularly with the PI to review the study’s progress (enrollment numbers, etc.) and attend regular meetings of the Co-investigators and other Key Personnel
  • Develop and monitor implementation of project workplans
  • Support team of 3-5 staff in SA to ensure accurate completion of all study acti! vities
  • Provide continual and targeted support and training to South Africa-based study team
  • Coordinate data operations and data flow between South Africa and US
  • Monitor accuracy and completeness of data collection and entry by data capturers to ensure quality management
  • Collaborate with US-based staff on quarterly data audits
