Job Summary: The Registered Nurse functions under the direction of the Nurse Manager and Resource Nurse and is responsible for implementing the nursing process based on expanded knowledge and experience. ! The nurse is responsible for coordinating and providing safe p! atient care with an understanding and awareness of age appropriate and culturally aware needs. The nurse addresses the patient/family biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial and education needs. The nurse is responsible for delivery of patient care in complex situations, coordination of patient care activities, staff development and professional self-development. The nurse is able to independently perform job functions.

Required Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing; current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the State of Georgia; Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred; national certification in area of specialty preferred.

Required Minimum Experience: One (1) year medical/surgical nursing practice in an acute care environment preferred. Required Skills: Ability to read, write and speak the English language; Strong customer service and inte! rpersonal skills; Inter- and intra-departmental coordination of patient care activities; Delegation skills required; Ability to multi-task essential; Ability to function in stressful and emergency situations essential; Strong detail orientation required; Computer skills required; Personal time management skills are required; Compliance with the American Nurses' Association Code of Ethics for Professional Nurses is required; Demonstrates knowledge of and practices within parameters outlined in Georgia Registered Professional Nurse Practice Act.
