Clinical Pharmacist FT Days
Redmond Regional Medical Center is a 230 bed acute care facility, serving as a referral source for al! l of northwest Georgia and parts of Alabama. The hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). Including its healthcare partners, Redmond has over 245 physicians with more than 30 specialties and a support staff of approximately 1,200 associates.
Redmond offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient programs, many of which are unique to the northwest Georgia region. Nationally recognized as a top cardiac care center, lifesaving open-heart surgery is regularly performed at Redmond. Other areas of excellence include emergency care, urology services, orthopedics, vascular care, an inpatient rehabilitation unit and more.
Responsibilities
Pharmacists are charged with the provisions of Pharmaceutical Care at Redmond Regional Medical Center as well as supporting the Pharmacy Leader in meeting all legal and regulatory requirements.
In the absence of the Department Leader or other core Leaders! , Pharmacists may be required to assume the core competency re! sponsibilities of the Pharmacy Leader.
Performs clinical responsibilities including pharmacokinetic consults, anticoagulation monitoring and adjustment, patient education and evaluating the patient s medication therapy to recommend appropriate drug regimen modifications.
Performs the duties of order entry, supervising pharmacy technicians, and coordinating the provision of pharmaceuticals throughout the hospital.
Responsible for drug information services, i.e., adverse drug reaction monitoring, medication use evaluations, and fielding drug information questions.
Participates in maintaining department inventory levels. Orders medications based on PAR levels.
Orders medication based on clinical need in conjunction with formulary initiatives.
Works with DOP or designee as needed in inventory management initiatives.
Participates in maintaining department formulary initiatives.
Communicates with appropriate medical, nursing, and allied health prof! essional staff members with regard to non-formulary decisions.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, hear, see, speak, and analyze patient care data.
Working Conditions: Centralized pharmacy services; occasional occupational exposure of blood borne pathogens, OSHA Category II.
Continuing Education Requirements: A bi-annual minimum of 30 ACPE hours as required by the Georgia Board of Pharmacy in addition to any hours necessary to develop and support core competencies of the job description and new services of the department.
Qualifications
Minimum of B.S. Pharmacy
Current Georgia Pharmacy License.
One year hospital experience preferred.
Excellent computer skills required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification preferred.
