Job Summary
Provides personal care and designated health-related services in compliance with agencies and hospital's policies and procedures, applicable health care standards, and governmental laws and regulations. Accountability will be monitored through direct observations; achievement of service goals including satisfaction, quality, and financial outcomes; and performance improvement activities.
Demonstrates population-specific competencies (e.g. age-specific, cultu! ral sensitivity, patient-centered communication) in performanc! e of role.
Qualifications Required
Education:
High School graduate or equivalent preferred with the ability read, write, and follow directions. Graduate of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant Training program which meets the requirement of42CFR 484.36 and applicable Georgia/South Carolina requirements or demonstrated competency through a passing score on the Home Health Aide Competency Examination.
Licensure/Certification:
Nursing assistant certification or a passing score on the Home Health Aide Competency Examination for those who are not state certified. Current CPR for Family and Friends required at date of hire or before visiting patients on and independent basis.
Valid driver's license and current automobile liability insurance required. Report of Motor Vehicle Record for past 5 years required.
Experience:
Normal experience gained in Certified Nursing Assistant Training program required.! Previous home health care experience is highly preferred. Hospital or other nursing assistant experience is also a plus.
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
Able to read, write, understand and carry-out directions and keep simple records.
Basic knowledge of growth and development relevant to the ages of the patients served.
Basic knowledge of the diseases and health care needs of the patient population served.
Ability to take and record temperature, pulse, and respiration relevant to the ages of the patients served.
Adequate interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians and other home health care personnel with whom daily interactions must take place.
Basic problem-solving skills sufficient to allow effective problem/conflict resolution.
Ability to function with minimal supervision.
Ability to provide reliable means of transportation.
Demonst! rated traits of initiative and dependability required.
Ability! to be flexible.
Ability to perform efficiently and effectively under stress.

Physical Demands
Standing and walking for long periodsââ¬â6-8 hours.
Sitting for extended periods of time.
