Centra Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to work as the Senior Director! of Quality Improvement that is licensed or in the immediate process, and qualifies, of obtaining RN licensure in this respective state to work in the specialty area of Quality Improvement.
The Senior Director, Quality Improvement plans, develops, and directs the Quality Improvement functions for assigned region of responsibility. The incumbent provides leadership necessary to achieve national best practice performance levels in quality improvement while implementing evidence based medicine/practices, ensures that the quality of healthcare services rendered meets or exceeds professionally recognized community standards, interfaces with a diverse range of clinical and administrative professionals, and seeks appropriate solutions to sometimes-complex policy and health care delivery issues and directs data analytic and reporting activities that are prescribed by customers and regulators in a multi-market environment. In addition, the Senior Director ensures compliance with! state, federal and accreditation requirements.
The Senior! Direct will develop and implement the quality improvement program and plan in accordance with the mission and strategic goals of the organization, federal, and state laws and regulations, and accreditation standards. She/he will facilitate strategic and tactical planning for the quality improvement program and plan, including needs assessments, evaluations, root cause analysis and interventions. The Director analyzes, updates, and modifies standard operating procedures and processes to continually improve QI Department operations, including but not limited to, quality of care complaint/adverse event investigations, and ambulatory medical record review assessments. Furthermore, the Senior Director oversees the annual HEDIS data collection process, ensuring that all opportunities to increase key performance rates have been identified and acted on as well as collects, summarizes, and presents timely regional market performance data/information, recommends opportunities for im! provement, promotes dialogue to identify appropriate solution strategies in various committee forums, and acts on approved approach. She/he also conducts oversight and interface internally and externally with various stakeholders of the member incentive and provider pay for performance programs, and presents evaluative/outcome data and resulting recommended program modifications, as may be needed. The Senior Director develops systems for close coordination of QI related functions with departments of which activities are directly linked to the QI Program, such as Credentialing as well as coordinates and completes all QI activities required to meet national accreditation and regulatory performance requirements, including the development and subsequent timely closure of any issued corrective action plans. She/he will supervise QI staff in the implementation of performance initiatives to increase process efficiency, improve HEDIS performance, and achieve constant contract compl! iance and is also responsible for monitoring and evaluating staff perfo! rmance.
Requirements include:
Must have graduated from an accredited school. Bachelor Degree in Healthcare, Nursing, Health Administration or related field required. Master's Degree in Healthcare or Public Health preferred.
Current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or willing to obtain licensure in another state, assuming that all pre-requisites have been satisfied.
Current CPR certification.
Current BLS card.
10+ years of quality improvement experience
5+ years in Managed Healthcare
4+ years with Medicaid experience
5+ years management experience
Excellent knowledge of NCQA standardsDuties and Responsibilities
Assesses patient needs, signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition
Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from health care members and documents act! ual and/or potential nursing diagnoses.
Documents the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions.
Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environment.
Initiates and evaluates patient and/or family education.
Revises and documents the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, and effective/ineffective nursing interventions.
Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
