An Utilization Review Supervisor facilitates and manages the day to day operations of the department including fiscal and human resources processes. ! Proactively supervises the efforts that ensure effective and efficient utilization review services, clinical reviews, pre-certification, denial analysis, and other revenue functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists Manager with budget preparation and budget analysis
Runs daily and weekly reports to analyze performance of department
Leads the development and implementation of initiatives to achieve departmental goals.
Manages the utilization of staff for effective and efficient services, covering for staff if needed.
Collaborates with medical staff and all levels of hospital personnel to assure effective coverage and precertification requirements are met.
Promotes autonomy and accountability by fostering an environment for staff to collaborate in effective problem solving at the unit and nursing service level.
Demonstrates competencies in case management and utilization review.
Assists in hiring staff for department.
Attends m! eetings with and communicates to outside departments, such as Managed Care, Patient Accounting, Medical Staff, Registration.
Provides oversight of staff in completing utilization review activities.
Knowledgeable in Children's systems, such as SMS, EPIC, Care Enhance.
Responsible for leading the development of Utilization Review systems, such as EPIC.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current license in the state of Georgia as a Registered Nurse is required.
Minimum 1 year experience in performing clinical reviews and Interqual criteria.
Minimum of 2 years of healthcare and managed care experience.
Must possess excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills.

Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of the date of hire.
