Description: Avery Partners is looking of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitione right now, this vacancy will be placed in Georgia. More details about this vacancy opportunity please read the description below. APRN's are expected to:
Conduct psychiatric evaluations
Formulate diagnostic impressions based on the standard classification of mental disorders noted in the D! iagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM IV-TR) and the International Classification of Diseases (ICD 9)
Manage patients' disorders based on the outcome of the assessments.
Assess the need for medication management (ie the outcome of a psychiatric evaluation, mental status exam, etc) to order necessary medications for consumers with psychiatric disorders, and to make appropriate medication changes.
All of the above actions will occur in accordance with the medications approved on the formulary for advance practice nurses.
Order and review any diagnostic procedures (lab tests) necessary to assess current Patients' mental status, or to assess therapeutic levels of medications (either for newly or previously prescribed medications).
Initiate an1013 or 2013 authorizing an emergency psychiatric evaluation.

Further manage psychiatric care of patients through:
a. Telephone consultation with the Company and/or the affiliated ! facility about patients' psychiatric disorders, diagnostic or ! therapeutic issues, general physical health issues that may be related to a psychiatric disorder.
b. Referrals to outside agencies as necessary for further psychiatric management.
c. Telemedicine/Video Conferencing.
REQUIREMENTS: A Nurse Practitioner degree with specialized training or experience in Psychiatry. A current license to practice as a nurse practitioner in the State of New York. A current DEA registration for the prescribing of controlled substances. Training and/or experience with specific populations or settings is desirable, and may also be required for some positions.
