• Demonstrates necessary skills and knowledge of the Medicare Administrative Cont! ractor (MAC) program.
• Provides clinical review of additional documentation requests and denials. Includes clinical review that is reflective of the clinical status of the resident (or non-reflective) found in the medical record. Identifies trends of inadequate documentation through the clinical review process and notifies the appropriate person.
• Identifies trends of inadequate documentation through the clinical review process and notifies the appropriate person.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Nursing services provided in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
• Utilizes the problem resolution system to escalate issues to the appropriate person.
• Communicates trends identified through phone calls and or claim reviews to the appropriate person.
• Collaborates with other associates to determine trends and share information related to the Medicare Program.
• Adheres to and oversee! s communication of privacy guidelines relative to the confiden! tiality of residents' protected health information.
• Participates company-sponsored training to safeguard against improper use and disclosure of such information.
• Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures and state and federal law.

Position Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of accredited school of Nursing.
• Five (5) years health care management preferred.
• Three (3) years clinical responsibility and experience in multi-facility, long-term care organizations.
• Must have Skilled Nursing Facility experience.
• Current Licensed Registered Nurse in state of residence.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of the Medicare regulations of denials and appeals.
