Job Summary:
The PACU Nurse is responsible for:

• Implementing the nursing process based on expanded knowledge and experience
• Providing patient care with an understanding and awareness of the patient's age specific, biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial and educational needs
• Delivering patient care in complex situations
• Coordinating activities and staff development within his/her practice setting
• Assuming responsibility for professional growth and self-development
• Performing core job functions as identified in the skills checklist with minimal supervision
• Exhibiting professional behavior in stressful situations

This position ! is located at Kennestone Hospital. Kennestone is our largest, 633-bed facility. Kennestone has much to offer!

Required Minimum Education: Nursing education from an accredited school of nursing; licensure as a registered professional nurse in the State of Georgia; national certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) preferred.

Required Minimum Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of nursing practice in operating room preferred. Sufficient experience to fu! nction independently in multiple nursing specialties (PreOp, PATT, Disc! harge, Recovery).

Required Minimum Skills: Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of new trends and techniques in nursing. Ability to multi-task using critical thinking skills. CPR certification and participation in annual safety and infection control programs. Basic keyboarding skills are required. Must be able to effectively communicate and understand verbal and written English language. Must be able to communicate effectively in a courteous, professional and tactful manner. Compliance with American Nurses' Association Code of Ethics for Professional Nurses is required. Demonstrated knowledge and practices within parameters outlined in Georgia Registered Professional Nurse Practice Act
