Job Summary:
The Operating Room Nurse is responsible for implementing the nursing process based on expanded knowledge and experience. The OR Nurse is responsible for providing patient care with an understanding and awareness of age specific needs. Th! e OR Nurse addresses the biological, emotional, developmental,! psychosocial and educational needs of the patient and family. The OR Nurse is responsible for delivering patient care in complex situations.The OR Nurse coordinates activities and staff development within his/her practice setting. The OR Nurse also assumes responsibility for professional growth and self-development. The OR Nurse is able to perform core job functions as identified in the skills checklist with minimal supervision. Must be able to deal professionally in stressful situations. Some charge nurse duties may be required.
The OR Nurse is currently licensed as a Registered professional nurse in the State of Georgia. The nurse is able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language. The OR Nurse has sufficient experience to function independently in multiple perioperative specialties; minimum two years perioperative experience preferred. The ability to take emergency call is required. Basic keyboarding skills are recommended.
