SUMMARY
Peachtree Spine Physicians is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse in our North Atlanta Office, to perform a variety of patient care activities in accordance with established standards and practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in planning, implementing, and managing surgical services;
Assists Clinical Coordinator/R.N. in planning, organization, implementation, and coordination of staff development programs;
Assists Clinical Coordinator/R.N. in coordinating patient care ! needs including supplies.
Assists Clinical Coordinator/R.N! . in coordinating risk management and quality assurance programs and guidelines.
Provides excellent nursing care and acts as patient advocate within the LPN scope of practice.
Obtains and records patient histories, medical information and vital signs.
Assists with procedures and monitors patients receiving moderate sedation.
Observes patients for physical and emotional changes and reports observations.
Responds to medical emergencies.
Obtains patient IV access when required.
Administers medications.
Provides discharge instructions and plan for follow-up.
Performs post-procedure telephone calls.
Schedules appointments as needed.
Adheres to and supports the mission, vision, values, philosophy, objective, policies and procedures of the center.
Assist Clinical Coordinator in the monitoring of the operative schedule and ensuring necessary equipment, supplies, and instruments
QUALIFICATIONS
A Licensed Practical Nurse with ! a minimum of 2 years experience.
An active license to practice nursing in the State of Georgia.
Experience in acute care setting preferred.
Current ACLS certification.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Visual acuity for chart review and equipment operation.
Heavy lifting of up to 100 pounds with assistance and 50 pounds without assistance.
Considerable stooping, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to wear protective lead vests for long periods.
Exposure to medical x-ray radiation.
