We currently have an exciting long term part-time opportunity for a Specimen Processor in Millen, GA.
Responsibilities and prospects for Specimen Processor include:
Process human urine, fluid specimens
Accession specimens; verify information on requisitions and specimen matches
Maintain specimen integrity
Accurately enter appropriate information into the computer system
Bar code and aliquot specimens with appropriate speed and accuracy
Complete patient processing log
Work with patient records to transfer insurance and address info to the laboratory request form
Transfer fluids from one container to another for security of shipping
Prepare samples for shipping to the laboratory on a daily basis
File daily/monthly/annual records
Complete initial creden! tialing requirements and maintain annual updates
Must hand! le patient medical records with complete confidentiality
Education and experience for Specimen Processor include:
High School Diploma or GED
At least 1 year experience in healthcare environment
Ideally have experience as a specimen collector for another lab or looking for a starting opportunity after having completed a medical assistant or lab technician program
