SUMMARY

The Professional Registered Staff Nurse is responsible for providing age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe en! vironment, educating patients and their families about healthy practices and treatment modalities, assuring continuity of care, coordinating the care across settings and among caregivers, managing information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology. The Staff Nurse utilizes the nursing process which includes the components of assessment, nurse diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning and coordination, implementation, and evaluation. The role of the staff nurse also includes patient advocacy, teaching, performance improvement, leadership and professional development. Registered nurses with less than 1 year experience are required to participate in a curriculum based residency program which supports evidence based practice and is designed to complement hospital and nursing orientations and specialty training.

QUALIFICATIONS

Current unrestricted Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse.

Graduate from an accredited college o! f nursing.

Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing pref! erred.

Commitment to 2 years sustained employment at the Grady Health System (RN Resident Only).

American Heart Association BLS Certification or within 30 days of hire.
