Duties & Responsibilities: Under the general supervision of the Dean of Health and Public Safety Technologies Division, directs and mo! nitors the accreditation process for the Patient Care Assisting Program of Study. Develops and manages the Patient Care Assisting programs with daily operation to include clinical services, contracts, administrative policies and procedures. Assists in managing the budget, including purchases of equipment and supplies. Monitors and manages the class schedules for the Patient Care Assisting Program, as well as the program's master course schedule. Prepares and delivers quality curriculum with daily instruction of students. Under general supervision, demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques. Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping requirements. Demonstrates the effective use of oral and written communication skills and knowledge of current procedures in the Nursing field. Follows approved curriculum standards and course syllabi. Monitors student use of! supplies, materials, and equipment. Advises and counsels stud! ents and maintains appropriate advisement records on each student. Maintains classrooms and laboratories in accordance with approved classroom and management plans. Conducts off-site visits to classroom/lab and clinical sites to ensure proper instruction. Attends meetings as required. Observes and enforces the institution's policies and regulations. Assist with student recruitment and job placement. Serves on committees. Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and accreditation standards. Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution
Minimum Training & Experience: Bachelors degree and/or five years related experience.
Agency Specific Qualifications and/or Preferred Qualifications: MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: Registered Nursing Degree (Associate's or Bachelo! r's in Nursing) is required. Additionally, a Bachelor's Degree in another field is required if the applicant has an Associate's Degree in Nursing. Two years of nursing experience. At least one year of nursing experience in the provision of long term care facility services. Experience in clinical practice, didactic and/or clinical teaching experience; experience in administration; experience in educational theory and methodology (curricular design, development, implementation and evaluation); experience in instructional design and methodology; and experience in student evaluation and outcomes assessment. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Strong oral and written communication skills, organization and planning skills. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to work collaboratively. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work flexible hours when necessary. Registered Nurse must have a current active Georgia Nursing License in good standing wit! h the Georgia Board of Nursing.
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Nursing or other health related fields
