Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Medical Assistant will assist in the operation of the front and back office operations of the Student Health Clinic. This employee will provide treatment under the direction of the Nurse Practitioner and Clinic RN. In addition, this employee will serve as front office representative for clinic check-in and check-out. Occasional travel with the mobile clinic is required.

Experience

A minimum of two (2) years of medical office (both front and back) experience is required.

Education

A minimum of a High school diploma (GED) is required.

A diploma from an approved Medical Assisting Program is required.

CPR certification is required.

Scope/ Impact

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidate must have excellent communication skills.

Must be able to competently and collaboratively interact with a cult! urally and ethnically diverse population of students.

! Must have medical terminology and HIPPA knowledge.

Working knowledge of EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems.

The successful candidate must possess the ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.

Candidate must have basic computer literacy in Microsoft applications.

Physical Requirements:
Position may require local travel. In performing these duties, the employee is required to walk, kneel and stand throughout the day. May be required to provide assistance in lifting patients onto a bed or examination table. Ability to lift equipment up to 25 (twenty-five) pounds. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone and in writing. Potential exposure to chemicals such as disinfectants, cleaners, soaps, etc. Possible exposure to latex, plastic and other materials for personal protective equipment; exposure to noise and distractions; unpred! ictable behaviors and possible exposure to bio-hazardous materials, including pathogens.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
A Criminal History Check is Required.

A Pre-Employment Drug Screening is Required.

Work Hours:
Position may require non-standard hours (nights and weekends).
