Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for directing the college’s financial and administrative functions.

Key Qualifications

  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a master’s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field
  • Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require three to five years of related experience
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
  • Ability to be bonded
Key Responsibilities

  • Directs! the college’s fiscal affairs, budget, procurement, campus s! afety, auxiliary services, and physical plant operations
  • Coordinates and oversees the design and construction of new facilities
  • Prepares regular budget reports to the President and college budget managers
  • Plans and oversees the renovation of college facilities
  • Provides for the proper maintenance and security of the physical assets of the college, to include proper insurance coverage and inventory systems
  • Exercises fiscal responsibility in the management of all allocated resources
  • Maintains custody and control of the college’s funds and investments
  • Helps to develop and administer divisional and college-wide budgets in conjunction with college goals and objectives
  • Provides leadership in the planning and implementation of the organizational structure, job descriptions, recruitment, evaluation, and professional development of divisional employees
  • Administers special projects
  • Provides lea! dership for strategic planning and assessment activities
  • Maintains records of all contracts and leases; compiles cost analyses; supervises the preparation of business and financial statistical reports
  • Maintains proper books of accounts setting forth the financial condition and transactions of the college; supervises all accounts maintained by the college which deal with the receipt and disbursement of funds
  • Installs and provides administrative direction for all accounting procedures, including the preparation of financial reports and internal auditing procedures
  • Monitors all accounts, claims, and demands against the college to ensure that any money drawn from college accounts for payment is correct and legally available
  • Serves as the principal financial advisor to the President in all policy decisions
  • Serves as liaison to the University System of Georgia system office and other campuses, as needed, on all fiscal, budgeta! ry, and physical plan matters
