Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, performing various direct patient care activities in a long-term care environment! . Assisting patients with dressing or undressing, bathing, or eating. Collecting non-invasive body fluid specimens or gathers vital signs but does not start or administer intravenous fluids. Aiding physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Documenting patient interactions as needed. Relying on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Answering patients' call signals.
- Turning and repositioning bedridden patients, alone or with assistance, to prevent bedsores.
- Observing patients' conditions, measuring and recording food and liquid intake and output and vital signs, and report changes to professional staff.
- Feeding patients who are unable to feed themselves.
- Providing patients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed.
- Providing patient care by supplying and emptying bed pans, applying dressings and supervising exe! rcise routines.
- Bathing, grooming, shaving, dressing,! or draping patients to prepare them for surgery, treatment, or examination.
- Transporting patients to treatment units, using a wheelchair or stretcher.
- Cleaning rooms and change linens.
- Collecting specimens such as urine, feces, or sputum.
- High school diploma or GED
- Certificate in health care related field from an accredited institution.
- Currently certified in Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of GA
- Minimum of 1 year experience in skilled care, preferably with the elderly
- Excellent technical assessment, document skills and leadership qualifications
- Must pass background check
- Attention to detail
- Customer Service skills
- Problem solving skills
- Basic knowledge of clinical procedures, medical anatomy and physiolo! gy.
- Documentation skills
- Ability to speak clearly and effectively in a variety of settings
- Ability to participate in initial and ongoing training as required.

- Ability to use tack and diplomacy appropriate to situation.
- Ability to maintain working relationship with all levels of colleagues.
