The Health Services Staff Physician is a trained, licensed professional physician who provides Georgia Southern University student patients with primary care, including the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chron! ic illness, women's health, office gynecology, patient advocacy, referral and collaboration with other health care professionals. The physician function includes delivering optimal medical care, clinical collaborative relationships, and patient health education.

Additional Position Summary Details:
Minimum Education Required:
Medical Degree from accredited school of medicine or osteopathy and unrestricted licensure to practice medicine in the State of Georgia

Preferred Education:
Minimum Experience Required:
Two or more years' of patient care experience; demonstrated skills in primary care medicine; board eligibility or certification in a primary care specialty (Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Pediatrics); successful completion of an approved internship and residency program; two years of patient care experience, including collaborative practice with advanced practice nurses and supervisory experience; abi! lity to work well in a diverse environment; successful complet! ion of pre-employment urinalysis screen, background investigation and physician credentialing process.
